Topic: Example Of Believers In Conduct
Text: Daniel 6:1-5
Anyone that claims to be a follower of Jesus Christ, ought to conduct his or herself as Jesus did (1 John 2:6)
In Matthew 5:13 it said: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
There are things you can not do as a child of God. There are places you can not go as a child of God. There are some types of jobs you can not do as a child of God. There are some types of clothes you can not wear as a child of God. You must not do anything that does not glorify God or that will bring shame to the name of God.
Ezekiel 36:20-21 said: And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, these are gone forth out of his land. But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
1 Peter 2:12 said: Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
1 Timothy 3:15 said: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Acts 24:16 said: And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
1 Thessalonians 2:10 said: You are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe.
James 3:13 said: Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his work with meekness of wisdom.
1 Samuel 18:14-15 said: And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him. Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.
1 Peter 3:16-17 said: Having a good conscience; that whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for welldoing, than for evildoing.
Daniel 6:1-5 says: 1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; 2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. 3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. 4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
Here we find out that Daniel conducted himself wisely in the sight of king Darius and his people, that they could not find occasion nor fault in him. Therefore, how do you behave yourself in your place of work, business, school, church, market, family, friends e.t.c does your attitude or character, bring glory to God or disgrace to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Prayer: Oh God, I am very sorry in any way that I might have brought shame to your name, knowingly or unknowingly. Please, forgive and cleanse me for your coming, in Jesus name.
