Topic: Example Of The Believers part 1
Text: 1 Timothy 4:12
Jesus Christ is the great example or pattern of His church.
In John 14:6 Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Hebrews 12:2 said: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
John 13:15 – 17 Jesus said: For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord: neither he that is set greater than he that set him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
John 12:26 Jesus said: If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my father honour.
I John 2:6 said: He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked. Our text above says: Let no man despite thy youth; but be thou an example of the Believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Jesus is himself, the standard of all moral goodness. His example was perfect. He always performed and entered that which was perfectly right. He did not sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. He was the true representative of all real excellence, both human and Divine. The question now is, are you following the steps of Jesus Christ?
Romans 13:5 says: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Prayer: Oh God, help me to be like Jesus in my life, in Jesus name.
