Text: 1 John 2:6
If there is anything a man or woman should desire it is to be like Jesus because, that is the only way you can be with Him, after your life here on earth. You may be using your own mouth, to be saying you are a holiness preacher, brother or sister. But the question is, does God see you as a holiness preacher, brother or sister?
Genesis 7:1 said: And the Lord said unto Noah, come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteousness before me in this generation.
2 Peter 2:5 said: And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.
Genesis 18:17-19 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Job 1:8 said: And The Lord said unto Satan, hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
2 Peter 2:7-8 said: And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked. For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.
You can claim to be a child of God or a Jesus follower whether in holiness or non-holiness. Are you living a life of Jesus Christ? Can God look down from heaven, and say that you are his son or daughter? Jesus came to show us an exemplary life. But does your life as a pastor, evangelist, prophet, prophetess, bishop, apostle, teacher, or church member reflect the life of Jesus Christ?
Acts 4:13 said: Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Not because of the big or small bible they were holding because, there were no bible at that time.
Acts 11:25-26 says: Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Meaning, the life of Jesus Christ. Be sincere to yourself now, without fear or favour. Can your wife, husband, children, mother, father, neighbours, colleagues, school mates, business partners, friends, pastor, church members e.t.c call you a Christian?
1 John 2:6 says: He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.
But today, reverse is the case that gay, lesbian, armed robber, fornicator, adulterer, witch doctor e.t.c are claiming to be a Christian. Even some of them are ordained as bishops, pastors and apostles. Once again, the real meaning of Christian is Christ like. So, does Jesus Christ, have any of those characters mention above? The answer is No. So, are you a Christian?
Prayer: Oh God deliver me from deception knowingly or unknowingly. Please, forgive, cleanse and prepare me for your coming, in Jesus name.
