Topic: Foundation Matters Part 3
Text : 2 Timothy 2:19-22
If you build your foundation on falsehood, you must know that when detected at last, you may be forgiven but it will be hard for you to be trusted.
I King 15:5 said: David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from any thing that He commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. We can see here that even though God forgave David by killing Uriah and marry his wife, but it was still mentioned here on his account.
I Timothy 6:19 says: Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
So, any foundation that will bring disgrace in future, should be avoided. For example a man wants to marry a woman and asks her if she had any child before. She lies that she didn’t have any children before because she is afraid of losing the man. When the truth finally comes out in future, she may be forgiven but the trust may never be one hundred percent again also, with the man. Many Christians are in trouble today, because of forged passports, visas, certificates, age e.t.c and they are afraid of doing their restitution because their faulty foundation will crumble. But you have to choose between heaven or hell.
2 Timothy 2:19-22 says: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His and, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Therefore, do not build your foundation on lies in this 2021 because, it will definitely hinder you from possessing your possession.
Prayer: Oh God, help me in this year to build on a solid foundation so that my labour will not be in vain, in Jesus name.
