Topic: Knowledge Is Power part 1

Text:  Philippians 3:10-12

When slave trade was abolished, many slaves did not know that they had the right to go away from their slave masters freely. So, many were still being intimidated, held captive and mistreated.
Hosea 4:6a says:  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The reason why the devil has the upper hand against many believers is because they don’t know who they are, in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 14:8-11 says:  Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

Many people go to church including ministers of God, they know how to preach, teach, prophesy and speak in tongues but no personal relationship with Jesus. That is why we have many wrong teachings from the pulpit both the holiness and non-holiness preachers. Jesus was surprised to hear Philip saying Lord, show us the Father. Jesus said l have been so  long with you, and yet has thou not known me, Philip? Pastor, evangelist, prophet, prophetess, bishop, apostle and church members both holiness and non- holiness, do you know Jesus?

Philippians 3:10-12   Paul said that I may know him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. If apostle Paul sought to know Jesus more and more, why can’t you put down your grammar, pride, arrogancy and self knowledge (Empty Yourself) and allow the holy spirit take control?

Prayer: Oh God, open my spiritual eyes, ears and heart, to know you more and more, in Jesus name. Bible reading for the day. Proverbs 18:15.
