Topic: Knowledge Is Power Part 2

Text: Matthew 16:13-20

John 8:32 says:  And ye shall know the truth; and the truth shall make you free. You can be sincerely  wrong thinking that you are right because you are ignorant especially, those who are carrying about the unbiblical doctrine of their general overseers, superintendents, international directors, senior pastors, Pope, senior bishops e.t.c without taking time to verify truth from the word of God (Bible)
Acts 17:11 says: The Berean brethren, were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all  readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Our master Jesus who is the way, truth and life said in John 5:39 that we should search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. So, before you start debating and stressing about man’s doctrine inherited from your general or international leader, first search the bible so as to be liberated from your ignorance.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 said: But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Matthew 16:13-20 says: When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

Here, Jesus wants to know if His disciples truly know whom He was. He first asked them whom do people say He is, and pointed the question to His disciples directly about whom they think or  believed that He is. They where all silent until Peter answered and said,  thou art the Christ, the son of the living God. Jesus said to Peter, flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Therefore, it’s required to have revelational knowledge of God (Holy Spirit) to know whom Jesus is. So, personal relationship is needed and not just because you can sing, preach or cast out demons in his name alone.
Matthew 7:21-23 says: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Prayer: Jesus, draw me closer to yourself and give me a deep insight of whom you are, in Jesus name. Bible reading for the day. Proverbs 24 : 5.
