Text: Genesis 39:7-12

As children of God, born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, we should understand that from the age of knowing good and bad (accountability) we are fully responsible for the choices we make in life, there is no need to blame the devil when your lust has caused you to sin. The bible says when lust is matured, it will give birth to sin and when sin is matured, it gives birth to death (James 1:14-15).
We could see here that enticement and lust are the problems of man kind. In our previous message, the bible says in Genesis 3:6 that when the woman (Eve) saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her ( Adam ) and he did eat. Flesh completely took over our great grandmother (Eve) and she, like many believers today

• Began to see good food from what God commanded not to eat.
• Began to see that the fruit was pleasant to the eyes from  among other fruits in the garden.
• Began to see a tree to be desired to make one wise.

When you begin to see this three signs in your christian life, you have to know that the enemy (devil) has planted evil seed in your life that need to be uprooted otherwise, it will cause you to be separated from your maker (God)

Genesis 39:7-12 says: And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s, wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

Joseph had a very big opportunity to commit evil, but he made a right choice that made him to become the second in command, in the land of Egypt. Therefore, do not blame anybody or even the devil, for the choice you are going to make this year because, you are completely in charge of your decision, whether life or death.

Prayer: Oh God, let your will be done in my life this year, that I might not fulfil the lust of my flesh, in Jesus name.
