Topic: Move Forward
Text: Philippians 3:13-19.
We are in a brand new year and the Lord God, has delivered us from horror of death, den of lion, flood of waters, danger rough and narrow roads e.t.c. Many could not survive the heavy wind that blowed but God in His infinite mercies, kept us alive.
Lamentations 3:22 says: It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
Psalms 124:1-8 says: If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul: Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. So, it’s time to move forward and to look back.
Genesis 19:17 says: And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. But in verses 26, the bible says that Lot’s wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Philippians 3:13-19 says: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example. For you to go far with the Lord in this 2021, you must press forward and not looking back on how you where grieved, provoked, cheated, robbed or your past glory.
Exodus 14:15 said: And the Lord said unto Moses, wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward. Therefore, don’t be stagnant or looking back but look unto Jesus who is ahead of you.
Luke 9:62 says: And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Prayer: Oh God, help me not to keep dwelling on my past but to move forward in this year, in Jesus name.
Bible reading for the day: Hebrews 12:1-13.
