Topic: Spiritual Blindness Part 1
Text: Genesis 21:14-19
Every child of God must have a spiritual eyes and spiritual ears otherwise you will be a slave to the devil. The reason why many pastors and church members are walking in ignorance and deception, is because they refuse to ask God to open their spiritual eyes, minds and ears. Jesus had a problem with the Pharisees because they thought that they knew it all. So, they locked up their minds against the teaching of Jesus. So are many men of God, including holiness and non-holiness preachers and their members. Romans 8:6 says: For to be carnally minded is death: but to be spiritually minded is Life and Peace. Until your spiritual eyes, heart and ears are open, you will still be working in your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
Genesis 21:14-19 says: 14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. 15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. 16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept. 17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. 18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. 19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
The well was close to Hagar, but she did not see it until, God opened her eyes to see the well of water. So are many ministers of God today, very zealous but working in ignorance.
Romans 10:1-2 says: Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Prayer: Oh God, deliver me from spiritual blindness, in Jesus name.
