Topic: Trust And Obey Part 2

Text: 1 King 13:1-26

James 4:7 says;  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and, and he will flee from you.
So, the word submission came first but the children of God want the blessings of God without submitting to the leadership or control of God. A song writer says trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. So, as you are looking unto the hand of God for blessings, power to move mountains, heal the sick and raise the death, you should also pray for the grace to live in obedience to the word of God.
Isaiah 1:19-20 said: If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword, for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Most men of God are the causes of fake promises of blessings without telling their members to run away from sin. What you hear from their mouth everyday is today, God will bless you, protect you, provide for you, your miracle will not pass you by. All these prayers are good but why can’t you tell them also to avoid every appearances of evil, why can’t you tell them that sin will lead them to hell. The reason is that you don’t want to lose their tithes and offerings and seed sowing that is coming into your accounts (money making generation)
Isaiah 1:10-17  says 10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah. 11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. 12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? 13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. 14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. 15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

1 King 13:1-26 talks about a man of God from Judah whom God sent on a journey, and was asked not to eat nor drink there and not to return from the same road he went. He disobeyed God by eating and drinking there. Verse  24-26 said: And when he was gone, a lion met by the way, and slew him: and his carcass was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass. And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcass cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcass: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt. And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, it is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the Lord: therefore the Lord hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the Lord, which He spake unto him. Therefore, there is no respecter of God with persons whether pastor, evangelist, prophet, prophetess, bishop, apostle, teacher or church members, as we all are trusting God in this 2021, let us also try to obey His word.

Prayer: Oh God, give me the Grace to obey your word in this year, in Jesus name.

Bible reading for the day. 1 Samuel 15:22-23.
