Topic: Unacceptable Tithes And Offerings.
Text: Malachi 1:6-8.
Giving God your tithe and offering does not mean that God accepts them. Therefore, if God did not accept your giving, there is no reward for it.
Deuteronomy 23:18a says : Thou shall not bring the hire of a whore into the house of the Lord for it is abomination unto the Lord thy God.
Hosea 2:12 God said: And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said. These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them. If you involve in prostitution or using somebody for prostitution and money you get from your boyfriend, girlfriend, sugar daddy and sugar mummy is not acceptable to God even though your pastor accepts it.
Matthew 27:5-6 Judas cast down the price of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, it is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. Any money gotten through robbery, whether armed, by trick or pen God does not accept it.
James 5:2-3 says: Your riches are corrupt and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cantered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Any money gotten through bribery, corruption, embezzlement and insincerity, God does not accept it.
Matthew 6:3-4 says: But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what they right hand doeth. That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Any giving of exaggeration, bribe and notice me, is not acceptable by God.
2 Corinthians 8:3-5 says: that the Macedonia brethren gave themselves first to the Lord, before entreaty Paul and his team to receive the gift presented by them. You have to be sincerely born again, sanctified, purified and walking with God, in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24) for your giving to be acceptable by God.
Malachi 1:6-8 says: A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible. And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts.
God is not a beggar but many believers treat Him like one. He said the offerings that you are giving to him, you try and give such to your governor if he will approve of your person. Some give in grudge, arrogancy, torn money note, incomplete tithe, throwing money into the offering box with annoyance, pushing note aside in the pocket or purse to bring out coins e.t.c
Genesis 4:4-7 said Cain did not do well in his offering but Abel brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof and the Lord had respect unto Abel and his offering. If your tithe is ten euros and you give nine euros, it’s no more tithe in the sight God that sees in secret; you become a liar. Remember Ananias and Sapphira Acts 5:1-11
Prayer: Oh God, forgive me and help me to give offerings that are acceptable to you and mankind, in Jesus name.
